The Jaguar god and Quetzalcoalt by lamlok The Jaguar god and Quetzalcoalt by lamlok
She says : this account will not be updated before, pfiiuu, she doesn't know.
But still is the big one, the once-a-year-illustration-you-dont-remember-how-much-time-spended-on-it...

For a little art-exhibit with friends about mythology.

It's very lovely...but how in the Hell do you pronounce Quetzalcoalt???

It's spelled Quetzalcoatl actually (last two letters are swapped) and IIRC it's (roughly and psuedo-phonetically) kweh-tsahl-koh-at-el, but wikipedia suggests the 'w' sound is missing, so it's sort of like ketsa-co-attle.  I've pronounced it the first way all my life, so I suppose I've been doing it wrong.    Learn something new every day.

By the way, the piece is gorgeous.  I love the colors and the exquisite balance.

I LOVE this piece, I adore art based off gods because of the artistic freedoms you can take with them. This is no exception, the Jaguar god looks the part of a hunter and I can appreciate not making the feathered serpent anthromorphic . Great piece.
